Broken, more Beautiful (Poem)

You were there when I was broken,

A life dropped to the floor,

Shattered.

You picked up the pieces,

The only One,

Who told me my life mattered.

All your horses and all your men,

Couldn't put me back together again.

But You yourself stepped down,

Knelt by my side,

You dared to call me friend.

I was made beautiful out of nothing,

Ex-Nihilo,

Ex Nihilo Decor,

Like a Kintsugi.

Gold fillings in the cracks,

And somehow,

I am even more precious than before.
